At Field, the athletic program celebrates the moments
of joy and empowerment that a hard-fought competition brings to student-athletes. Transferable skills
of collaboration, teamwork, resilience, grit, and con昀椀dence bolster student success in athletics and the
classroom.
We believe that a holistic approach to athletic skill development ensures a lifelong commitment to physical
well-being and the enjoyment of playing sports beyond high school. Developing multi-sport athletes who
enjoy participating across the seasons allows our student-athletes to develop healthy habits that will continue into adulthood.
UPPER SCHOOL ATHLETICS
Competing in upper school athletics allows students
to represent Field in a higher level of competition, take
on leadership roles, and support and work with fellow
teammates towards a common goal. All upper school
students are required to earn at least one activity credit
per year, which includes participating on an athletic
team, taking a PE elective, or participating in an intensive
extracurricular offering.
Upper School Sports: Soccer, Baseball, Basketball,
Volleyball, Cross Country, Swimming, Winter Track,
Lacrosse, Tennis, Track & Field, and Ultimate Frisbee.
Non-competitive PE Electives: Yoga, Introduction to Weight Training, and Hiking
Starting in 2024-25, we have expanded the range of ways students can ful昀椀ll what used to be our athletics
requirement. Students are required to earn one activity credit per school year, which they can do by
participating in one season of an interscholastic sport, taking an upper school PE elective, or participating
in one of a range of intensive extracurricular offerings.
